The Origins: From 1760 to Today
The Beyer family story begins in 1760 in the German town of Donaueschingen, where Matthäus Beyer laid the foundation for a legacy that would span the centuries. In 1822, his grandson Stephan Beyer brought the name and business to Switzerland, settling in Feuerthalen, in the canton of Zurich. In 1860, Stephan's son opened the first shop in Zurich's Niederdorf district, and in 1877, Beyer Chronometer moved to Bahnhofstrasse, the new heart of the city. After initially setting up shop in the former Schweizerische Kreditanstalt (now Credit Suisse) building on Paradeplatz, in 1927 the company moved to its current location across Bärengasse, where it remains to this day.

Excellence from Generation to Generation
All descendants of the Beyer family are certified watchmakers, a clear sign of their commitment to craftsmanship. Today, at the helm of the company is René Beyer, who carries on this tradition with pride and vision. A special historical bond unites the Beyer family with another visionary, Hans Wilsdorf, founder of Rolex. It is said that their affinity has helped consolidate the success of both companies.
