Rolex Explorer II S.A.S.

The British Special Air Service (SAS) was founded in 1941 as the special operations division of the British Army and has remained one of the most respected military organizations in the world. Despite its absolute secrecy, the unit is estimated to have approximately 500 active soldiers, recruited and trained through extremely rigorous programs. In 2012, continuing its long-standing relationship with the armed forces, Rolex granted SAS soldiers the opportunity to purchase an exclusive Explorer II, reference 216570. Most known examples feature a black dial, but a few "Polar" models have also been identified. These watches represent a historic piece of great collectible interest, all personalized with the SAS logo and the regiment's famous motto: "Who Dares Wins."
